Editing PI Columns and Benchmarks

You can tailor Performance Indicator (PI) notebooks by selecting which columns you want to appear when viewing the 'Data' tab, and in what order. Additionally, you can edit what the data screen displays for the PI. This article will walk you through how to do that.

1. Changing columns
Columns displayed when viewing the PI's edit data screen follow this priority order: preferences set by the logged in User, then default column preferences.
To set column preferences:
- Switch to the 'Data' tab.
- Click 'PI Data▼'.
- Select 'Edit Columns'.
- Choose the columns you want displayed.
- Click 'Save & Close'.
2. Changing benchmarks
To set benchmark preferences:
- Switch to the 'Data' tab.
- Click 'PI Data▼'.
- Select 'Edit Benchmarks'.
- Choose the benchmarks you want displayed.
- Click 'Save & Close'.
3. Changing frequency
To change the displayed data period:
- Switch to the 'Data' tab.
- Select 'Showing <default frequency> from <set start date year> to <current year>'.
- Choose one of the options.
- Click 'Close'.
Coming back to your filter
When you open a new instance, the search filter is no longer cached, and the frequency view defaults back to what has been opted as the gauge source.
As 'Months' is the selected gauge source for the example PI provided this would then default back to monthly. If it were 'Year' it would default to 'Annual, and the same for 'Quarters'.
4. Editing the data screen
To change your data screen preferences:
- Switch to the 'Data' tab.
- Click 'PI Data▼'A.
- Select 'Edit'.
You will see an 'Edit Data' screen. - Click the 'Columns' button.
- Edit the PI's data as required.
- Click 'Save'.
This will save the changes made to the PI's data and your column preference.
