Creating and managing Appraisals

Appraisals_Scheduler or higher permissions are required.
Tracking your employees' development and performance is vital to the overall success of your organisation. With the help of this guide, you will learn how to create, cancel, and repeat Appraisals for your Employees.

1. Appraisals list
To access Appraisals:
- Open the Go To... menu.
- Hover over 'Appraisals'.
- Select 'Appraisals' (under 'Administration').
You will be taken to this overview page:
2. Creating Appraisals
To create an Appraisal:
- Open the Appraisals list.
- Click 'Appraisals▼' in the top left corner of the view.
- Select 'New Appraisal'.
You'll be prompted to enter a name for your appraisal in the pop-up box. - Click 'Save & Close'.
Once created, you'll be taken to your Appraisal's setup page, where you can tailor it to your needs:
Each of the sections on the left gives you a unique set of options to configure:
- Who? - Select who is going to be appraised.
- Contributions - Select who is going to Appraise the chosen employee(s).
- Dates - Define the major deadlines for the Appraisal.

Notifications - Choose which notifications are sent to Contributors.
You can configure which notifications show up in this section by default. - Content - Select which areas the chosen employee(s) will be appraised on.
- Scoring Rules - Adjust how each area and contribution affects the overall score.
- Form Design - Change the look of the final Appraisal form.
- Final Comments - Decide whether additional comments will be collected on Appraisal completion.
- Start Appraisal - Finalise your Appraisal!

Each option comes with an explanation of how to utilise it.
Your Appraisal will be saved every time you switch between the sections. To complete the Appraisal setup later, click 'Start this Appraisal later' displayed below the stage selection.
Made a mistake? Don't worry!
You can use the 'Revert this stage' button in the top-right of the page to reset the values for the selected section to default.
Once you've started your Appraisal, you will receive an email notification to confirm its creation and be taken to its timeline:
Use this overview to track the progress and major deadlines. Depending on your role in the process, your timeline may contain additional elements.
3. Editing Appraisals
There is no option to edit an Appraisal once it has been created. You can always cancel the Appraisal and create a new one to replace it.
To cancel an Appraisal:
- Open the Appraisals list.
- Select the hyperlinked Title of the Appraisal you want to cancel.
This will take you to the timeline view. - Click 'Appraisal Name▼'.
- Select 'Cancel this Appraisal'.
- Add a comment explaining why you are cancelling the Appraisal (optional).
- Click 'Save & Close'.
Once cancelled, the Appraisal will still appear in the Appraisals list when the correct filters are selected.
4. Repeating Appraisals
To create an Appraisal with the same settings as an existing one:
- Open the Appraisals view.
- Highlight the item row for the Appraisal you want to repeat.
- Click 'Appraisal Name▼'.
- Select 'Repeat this Appraisal'.
You'll be prompted to enter a name for your Appraisal in the pop-up box. - Click 'Save & Close'.
All settings will match the ones selected for the Appraisal you picked from the list. You can still change them before starting this new Appraisal.
