Creating and managing Questions

Asking open questions during Appraisals can give you good insight into how your Employees are feeling. This guide will walk you through how to set up and organise Questions used in Appraisals within your organisation.

1. Questions list
To access Questions:
- Open the Go To... menu.
- Hover over 'Appraisals'.
- Select 'Questions' (under 'Administration').
You will be taken to this overview page:
2. Creating Questions
To create a Question:
- Click 'Questions▼' in the top left corner of the view.
- Select 'New Question'.
You'll be prompted to enter a name and guidance for your Question in the pop-up box. - Click 'Save & Close'.
Once created, you'll be taken to your Question's notebook:
3. Editing Questions
To edit a Question:
- Open the Questions list.
- Ensure that the Question is not currently in use.
- Select the hyperlinked Title of the Question you want to edit.
This will return you to the notebook page for the Question, where you can amend its name, update the guidance, or deactivate it.
4. Deactivating Questions
To deactivate a Question from the list view:
- Open the Questions list.
- Ensure that the Question is not currently in use.
While you can deactivate a Question that is being used in an Appraisal, it's not advised. - Highlight the item row(s) for the Question(s) you want to deactivate.
- Click 'Questions▼'.
- Select 'Deactivate'.
You'll be prompted to confirm you wish to deactivate the Question(s) in the pop-up box. - Click 'Deactivate'.
Once disabled, the Question will still appear in the Questions list when the correct filters are selected.
You can reactivate a Question by following the instructions again, selecting 'Reactivate'.
5. Duplicating Questions
To create a Question with the same guidance as an existing one:
- Open the Questions list.
- Highlight the item row for the Question you want to duplicate.
- Click 'Questions▼'.
- Select 'Duplicate'.
You'll be prompted to enter a name for your Question in the pop-up box. - Click 'Save & Close'.
You can still edit the new Question before adding it to a new Appraisal.
