Configuring Risks module settings (Classic)

Site Admin permissions are required.
Risks module settings in Classic go more in depth than the ones available in Browser. This article will walk you through configuring the most important settings to make sure you are ready to use the Risks module across both applications.

1. Risk Matrices
Creating a Matrix
To set up a Risk Matrix:
- Click the 'Risk' topic button.
You can also access the setup from the 'Admin' button. - Select 'New'.
You will see a pop-up

Add Impacts by selecting ‘New Impact’.
You can customise the Code and Descriptions for the selected Impact at the bottom of the screen. - Switch to the 'Likelihoods' tab.

Add Likelihoods by selecting 'New Likelihood'.
You can customise the Code and Descriptions for the selected Impact at the bottom of the screen.. As you add Likelihoods, you will see your Matrix at the top of the page. - Switch to the 'Assessments' tab.
- Enter the 'Code', 'Description', 'Score', 'Colour', and 'Status' for each Assessment on the Matrix.
By default, every entry will be blue. You can customise the colours to suit your needs.
Once you have configured all the Assessments, your 'Assessments' tab and Matrix will look something like this:
Once saved, you can use the Matrix to create Risks.
Selecting a Default Risk Matrix
To create Risks in Browser, ensure that a Default Risk Matrix is set. To do this, navigate to Site Setup, select the 'Risks' tab, and select one of your matrices from the 'Default Risk Matrix' dropdown.
Editing a Matrix
You cannot modify Matrices that are currently in use - they will appear greyed out.
To edit an existing Matrix, you will need to delete all Risks that are using it. You can use Risk Queries to find any Risks currently using a specific Matrix,
Risk Approaches and Management
To create an Approach and Management entry, click the 'Risk' topic button and select 'New'.
Options created this way will appear when you interact with the 'Management▼' menu (under 'More...') within a Risk notebook.
