Configuring First Tab settings for modules
Who is this article for?Site Administrators who want to set up a custom item types for some modules.
Site Admin permissions are required.
To further tailor the experience for your Users, you can customise the folding panels appearing under the First Tab of a module. This article will walk you through how to access and configure these settings.
In this article:
1. First Tab Settings view
To access First Tab settings:
- Open the Go To... menu.
- Hover over 'Site Admin' at the bottom of the menu.
- Select the module you'd like to configure (under 'First Tabs').
You will be presented with the setup page for the chosen module where you can update its title:

Unlike the other modules, First Tabs are set up on a per type-basis for Actions and PIs. Read our guides on configuring Action module settings and Performance Indicators module settings to learn more.
2. Adding items to First Tab
To add items:
- Open the First Tab Settings view.
- Use the dropdown 'Choose item to add' to browse items.
- Select an item.
- Click 'Add'.
Your item will be added as a panel in one of the empty spots:
You can move the panels by clicking and dragging them and remove them by clicking the 'x' icon in the top corner.
Once you are happy with the setup, click 'Save'!
3. Panels in the First Tab
Any panels located within the 'More' tab of a module can be moved into the First Tab. Likewise, any panels removed from the first tab will then appear in the 'More' tab, unless the module allows the panel to be hidden, such as the Actions and PI modules.
This includes common panels available in all modules, such as 'Notes', 'Documents', 'Owners', 'Triggers', and 'Additional fields'. There may also be module-specific panels and custom field groups that can be moved.
