Users who are having issues with generating reports/dossiers.

Admin permissions are required.

This article will provide an overview of what to check when troubleshooting Report and Dossier generation issue.

Ownership Requirements

Reports

If a User is not in the 'Owned By' Ownership for a Report, they will be unable to generate it. However, if they are listed in the 'Also Visible To' Ownership they can (open) download the last generated version.

Dossiers

If a User attempts to Generate a Dossier and they do not have Ownership of all the components they will receive the below message:

In Browser, there will be some grey text in place of the generate and open buttons.

The Ownership requirements for generating Dossiers are:

'Owned by' Ownership of:

1. The Report Dossier
2. Any Reports in the Report Dossier

​Minimum of 'Also Visible To' Ownership of:

1. Any Documents in the Dossier
2. Any Strategy Maps in the Dossier
3. Any Dashboards in the Dossier
4. Any Report Layouts being used

If a user can generate a report where the correct data populates, however, when generating a dossier using that report, the data is either missing or incorrect. They most likely do not have visibility to a report layout used for the Dossier.

Locked Report

Reports and Dossiers cannot be generated if they are Locked. To check to see if a Report is locked, open the Report in Classic and in the Publish tab, check for a lock  Icon below the Next Run Date. If the Icon is present it indicates the Report is Locked, this can be disabled by selecting the options button for the layout and change it from Locked to one of the other options.

Document not appearing in Dossier Report

A Document will only be included in the generated Dossier if the output formats match. For example - if you have added a PDF Document into a Dossier, and choose to generate this Dossier in PDF format, the Document will be included. Otherwise, a yellow placeholder banner will appear in place of the Document

RAG Statuses not appearing on Strategy Map

In order to enable a Strategy Maps RAG Statuses, you will need to enable the option to 'Use panic status overlay?' This can be found in the Report Dossier Composition tab, in the Layout/Format Column.
