Report Central is your hub for creating Report Layouts and generating Reports. This article will walk you through the process from start to finish, including the various tabs and options you will encounter.
In this article:
1. Accessing Report Central
To access Report Central:
- Open the Classic application.
- Click the 'Reports' topic button.
- Select 'Report Central'.
You will be taken to a list of all Reports that currently exist in the system.
2. Navigating Report Central
To help you find your way around Report Central, we put together an explanation for what each of the buttons and options does.
Change
'Change' allows you to filter and choose the type of Reports you want to create or view. Depending on which Report type you choose, the number of options available may be different.
Search
'Search' allows you to enter any search term to look for existing Reports on the system.
The search is based on which view you are looking at. For example, if you are looking at Actions Reports, the search would only return results for this type of Report.
New
'New' is a button that appears in various places in Report Central.
In the Folder view, clicking it will present options for creating a new Report, Dossier, or Folder. In a Report type view, clicking it will create a new Report of that type.
Explore From Here
'Explore From Here' is a button that becomes available after you have opened a Folder.
Clicking on this button will open a new tab which contains a view with only the contents of that folder.
Delete
'Delete' is a button that becomes available as soon as one or more items have been selected at once.
You will be prompted once to confirm that you wish to delete the selected item(s).
Deletion is permanent
Deleting a Report cannot be undone. Similarly, deleting a folder will also delete all sub-folders and Reports contained within it.
Save
'Save' is a button which is normally greyed out, until a change to a Report is made.
Clicking will save any current changes for all Users who have access to the Report.
Refresh/Revert
While viewing a module, Classic does not actively reflect any potential changes that other Users may have made until the page is refreshed manually.
Clicking 'Refresh' will reload the view you are currently on and show any changes made since the last refresh.
'Revert' will replace the 'Refresh' button if you have made any kind of modification to a Report.
Clicking 'Revert' will discard changes you made to the Report since the last time it was saved.
Copy/Paste
'Copy' is a button that will become active once you have selected folders or Reports.
'Paste' will replace the 'Copy' button once you have copied selected reports.
Navigate to the folder you wish to paste the selected items into and click 'Paste'.
Need to copy and paste a bulk of items?
No problem! Hold down the Ctrl key when selecting the required items. This will allow you to perform actions on all highlighted items.
Audit Trail
'Audit Trail' is a button only available to Site Admin.
Clicking it will produce an Audit Trail for whatever item you currently have selected, displaying all audited changes made to the item over time.
