Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is an authentication method that uses two (or more) distinct mechanisms to validate a User's identity, instead of relying on a simple username and password combination. This article will answer some of the high-level questions about the functionality so you can decide if it's suitable for you.
In this article:
1. Overview
Benefits
Users need to confirm their identity with a mechanism that is unique to them, reducing likelihood of identity theft, cyberattacks, and data breaches.
Using MFA
Once configured, each User accessing the site will need to use MFA to access it.
Each time a User tries to log in using their regular credentials, they will then be prompted to input a 6-digit PIN number which is sent to them via email.
2. Configuring MFA
To implement MFA, we need to make a change to your site.
